This year Alameda Ballet Academy will again be holding a performance to showcase all of our students’ accomplishments. We are looking forward to 2 performances this year! Friday, June 14 (6pm) and Saturday, June 15 (2pm), at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts! We will be dancing to excerpts from La Bayadère. We strongly encourage every student’s participation in the Spring Recital. For many of our dancers, the primary reason they come to ballet class is so that they can perform. The performance is the inspiration and reward for all of their hard work!

About the ballet
Featuring dancers from Pre-Ballet to Level 6 of Alameda Ballet Academy

The excerpts we have chosen highlight the timeless music of the great Austrian composer Ludwig Minkus and some of the original choreography by one of the most influential choreographers of all time, Marius Petipa. You will see the beauty and reverence of the bayadères, or temple dancers, notably the lovely Nikiya, the ballet’s tragic heroine who has been chosen the most beautiful of them all. In the palace, you will see festive, fun, (and cute!) dancing from all levels at ABA. Finally we showcase our most advanced dancers in the exquisite dreamland, the Kingdom of the Shades, “one of the most celebrated pieces in all of classical ballet” (wikipedia).
