2026 Summer Intensive

Lead by Kai Hannigan

Kai Hannigan is a Japanese American contemporary dancer and choreographer based in Rotterdam and San Francisco. He began his dance training in classical ballet at Alameda Ballet Academy before continuing at San Francisco Ballet School. Kai later focused on contemporary dance, completing the Alonzo King LINES Training Program in 2025 and studying at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam.

He has worked with a variety of choreographers, including Alonzo King, Sidra Bell, Olivier Wevers, and Rena Butler, and has created original works for training programs, exploring themes of movement and expression. As a queer Asian American artist, his experiences continue to shape his creative voice and perspective. Kai loves sharing his passion for dance with young dancers, helping them build strength, artistry, and creativity.
